Litecoin wallet problem
« on: April 15, 2013, 04:03:14 AM »
Hi everyone.

I recently sent Litecoins i purchased from Btc-e and sent them to my encrypted wallet.

Every time i go to load the wallet, its says i have zero balance.

I found my coins on the http://explorer.litecoin.net/ site, but how do i get control over my coins?

I tried my back up wallet after reinstalling client, and still nothing.

Its great to see my coins are floating somewhere safe, but how do i send them back to Btc-e?

I dont want to send them back to wallet that is giving me problems. Has anyone had this happen to them?

Any help will be greatly appreciated, thank you.

Hope your all doing well and buying those LTC's. ;)

There's your problem. You mentioned your wallet being encrypted and when your wallet is encrypted you aren't able to make any transactions. So, I suggest you decrypt your wallet to continue normal use. I have posted a description on a thread about how to decrypt the client: http://forum.litecoin.net/index.php/topic,1961.0.html. Take a look at the thread look for my post and follow the directions. After, having done that you should be able to receive your coins and send coins. Try it out and let me know how it goes. Cheers!

Thank you very much. I should have mentioned I only encrypted wallet after sending the coins.
But I received an email from btc-e today saying they have returned coins to customers?
I will have to check when I get home.
Thanks again for your help.

I still cant access my wallet. I throw the backup wallet onto the qt and nothing.

The address in the transaction history is showing an address that is not in my wallet.

So i dont know what to do. Btc-e sent an email saying coins have been returned to customers accounts after Btc themselves took them?

Did anyone else receive a message/email like that?

This is the transaction history. http://explorer.litecoin.net/tx/5f367d304605a1c59a4ddcc4ab8e126d3838c93bb4aad87185b3e74ebc3acc07#o1
http://explorer.litecoin.net/address/LYd494eXq1WuiR5rLDDSmzYvjRZNBNtp1U

Its only a small amount of coins, but i would like to sort this out before i buy anymore litecoins. It has already stopped me from buying more.

Thanks again for any help.

This is your problem right here. If you don't have that address in your wallet, then you don't own the coins.
You need to get that address back before you can get the coins back.

Importing a privkey from liteaddress should rescan the blockchain and find its balances.  You can try running the client with -recan which does it again.  If it doesn't find the balance, then you don't own the address/key in question.
