Rig 1

HD 5970 XFX 2GB = 722Kh/s @ 250W (825/1100 1050v) 80c

Rig 2

HD 7970 Sapphire Radeon (11197-11-40G) = 657Kh/s @ 220W (1000/1600 900v) 55c

Very impressed by this Sapphire 7970, got it on sale for $409 with $15 Rebate + AMD game bundle selling 4 of games on ebay currently up to $40 so a good price for the card in my opinion. Will probably pick up another.

Just managed to up to 700Khs on my 7970.

Using MSI afternburner, upped the memory voltage to 1.6, keeping standard voltage (1.12), running clock@ 1055, memory @ 1850. Now using an extra 15-20w though with the current price of litecoin for me its worth it!

Speed: ~5.059 khash/sec
Is that good? I'm new at mining.
Just using my PC for this to test it out

I was wrong my 7970s are factory overclocked that's why I'm getting 825 KH/s clocked them below the factory overclock and they are pulling just over 680-725 KH/s
Would you mind sharing your settings in detail?
OS, Driver, SDK, cgminer or reaper, core clock, mem clock, core volt, mem volt, miner settings.
Thanks

Because the LTC price is back up I've switch my 7770 back to lite coin. It runs a lot cooler and far more stably on LTC than maxing the CPU clock for BTC.

I also found that with the GPU clock in the low 900s there was very little speed difference. Increasing the clock 10Mhz (~1%) didn't make a definite difference. It did however influence the temperatures. So I've opted for a slightly lower GPU clock for maybe 0.5khs less performance.

7770  178khs
gpu clock 900Mhz mem clock 1300

-20% voltage using 13.2 drivers toadjust clock speeds and voltage
reaper 13 beta 4 (I think)
worksize 256
aggression 17 (this is faster than aggression 18,seems to get bogged done on 18)
threads per gpu 1
lookup gap 2
thread concurrency 8000

7970 @ 1000/1575 1038mV
527kH/s using reaper on Windows 8 64bit and 13.2b7 driver
aggression low because I use this computer

litecoin.conf
Code: [Select]

pass

protocol litecoin

worksize 256
vectors 1
aggression 13
threads_per_gpu 1
sharethreads 32
lookup_gap 2
gpu_thread_concurrency 24000

edit: changed to cgminer and getting 547 kH/s

edit: changed to cgminer and getting 547 kH/s  still not 600+ as others are reporting with the same settings

Me too. No way near 700kH/s.

Are we using the wrong operating system (Win7x64) and driver version (13.2)?

I would be interested in how long cards have run at the rates some of you are posting. For example if you've run your 6950s at 430kh/s continuously for 3 months with out shutting down that would be very interesting. From the point of view of a rig you want to be able to walk away and leave it and know your cards will be good a year from now.

All my 6950s that are flashed run a lot hotter and for only a practical increase in hashing of maybe 3 percent. That extra heat means I loose that in increased electrical costs.

I'll say it again if you haven't run your card at these speeds continuosly for months it means nothing and your poisoning the forum with bad info. I mean I can run a 6950 at 465kh/s for maybe 5 minutes. Means nothing though and I wouldn't be on here saying it was a fact.

There might be a reason why Con Kolivas states:

"Just like in Bitcoin mining, scrypt mining takes an intensity, however the
scale goes from 0 to 20 to mimic the "Aggression" used in mtrlt's reaper. The
reason this is crucial is that too high an intensity can actually be
disastrous with scrypt because it CAN run out of ram. Intensities over 13
start writing over the same ram and it is highly dependent on the GPU, but they
can start actually DECREASING your hashrate, or even worse, start producing
garbage with HW errors skyrocketing. The low level detail is that intensity is
only guaranteed up to the power of 2 that most closely matches the thread
concurrency. i.e. a thread concurrency of 6144 has 8192 as the nearest power
of two above it, thus as 2^13=8192, that is an intensity of 13."

Now I've found that you can get higher hash rates with higher intesities; but, three months (if not sooner) down the road you might be crying about those hardware errors.

Oh.....and if you don't know who Con Kolivas is he's the author of scrypt support for cgminer. The nice thing about the people involved in open source is that their opinions are very honest. Guess that goes hand in hand with the word open.

FINALLY got some results with my 4870 and 4850.

~115kh/s on the 4870 with --shaders 800 --thread-concurrency 2046 --intensity 11

~96kh/s on the 4850 with same settings but intensity 10 (so far intensity 11 returns too many scrypt errors)

The upper limit on thead concurrency is the same for both cards, I'm still doing some tweaking but sometimes I can peak at 135kh/s and 110 kh/s respectively.

Hi, i have x3 7970 runing with cgminer at 622kh/s
For some reason i can't get more thread concurrency of 8192, when i use more i just lose hashes.
Same with intensity, can't far of 13.

--shaders 2048 --intensity 13  --worksize 256  --gpu-engine 1200 --gpu-memclock 1600 --thread-concurrency 8192       = 622 khs/s

Are you using cgminer 11.3?

11.2 was limited to intensity 13
