mining with litecoin wallet vs. reaper
« on: April 12, 2013, 12:36:31 AM »
hi everyone!

i am very new to this stuff, so please forgive my ignorance.

i just got "litecoin" wallet downloaded (v0.6.3c-beta) and hit the 'mining' button.  but i am not sure what the difference is between mining through this software...and say, reaper.

now...it has a checkmark at the bottom...and says that it is "up to date".

it says that it is mining xxx hashes/second...but where do the litecoins go?  i haven't seen any progress.

is it all basically the same?

i watched this video:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EvhpOQHVZpM

and this dude seems to be using the litecoin wallet app. i downloaded, in conjunction with, say, reaper.

why would you want to do this if the litecoin wallet app. mines too?

are they different flavours of what is essentially the same deal?

how do i connect the two?

i checked out the "idiot's guide to litecoin"...but it is too complicated for me thus far :(

hopefully someone out there can help!

cheers,

star
