cgminer: Hashrate vs. WU
« on: May 08, 2013, 07:10:26 PM »

I'm fairly new to LTC mining. I have a small rig of 3x 7950's.

I have been playing around with overclocking settings to find something stable.

I got my cards to ~670-680kh/s each, with 0.01% rejects (on stratum).
With those settings my WU is about 1900/m
This is after ~24hrs of mining.

I have tweaked my cards further, and now I am getting 695-700kh/s, with still very low rejects (0.05-0.1%)
but, my WU went down to about 1825-1850/m

What is best?
Lower hashrate, but higher WU.
Or, higher hashrate and a lower WU?

Nevermind. Found the good settings for 695+ kh/s, with an almost 1:1 kh/s to WU ratio. (got about 1975 - 2025 WU)

WU takes many hours to settle down, it is heavily influenced in the short term by luck, so don't draw quick conclusions.

In the long term, WU (in diff1-shares-per-minute) should be numerically 9/10ths of your hash rate (in kilohashes-per-second).
